Children's furniture – safety and durability under full control

For a client engaged in the production of children's furniture, we conducted comprehensive strength analyses of the models of the crib, bedside crib, and small bed that we received from them.

Our goal was to ensure maximum safety for users and compliance with certification standards.

For each piece of furniture, we conducted detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations that included:

- Checking the strength under static and dynamic loads.

- Analyzing critical points, i.e., areas that could be damaged under normal use.

- Verifying the compliance of the design with safety standards for children's furniture (including EN 716, EN 1725). This way, the client immediately knew which structural elements required reinforcement before production began.

Step 1:

FEA

and analysis compliant

with the standards

After completing the analyses, the client conducted their own physical tests, which included:

- Load-bearing strength tests of all furniture components.

- Safety usage tests for children in different age groups.

- Stability and durability checks of cribs and bedside sleepers under real usage conditions. The test results were fully consistent with our simulations – all furniture passed validation without damage, confirming the effectiveness of the analyses applied and the correctness of the construction.

Step 3: Client validation

Based on the simulation results, we have prepared detailed reports that include:

- Visualizations of stresses and deformations of individual elements.

- Identification of potential risk areas and recommendations regarding materials and reinforcements.

- Comparison of different design variants so that the client can choose the most optimal and safe version. This ensures that the client has full technical knowledge and confidence that they are implementing products in accordance with safety standards.

Step 2: Reports and conclusions

Thanks to the collaboration, the client gained assurance that their furniture is safe, durable, and compliant with certification standards, allowing them to introduce products to the market without the risk of structural defects.
